Social Group Facilitator for East Sussex Libraries
East Sussex Library and Information Service is committed to provide a welcome, open space for people to meet, chat and make new friendships and connections. Social Groups can include Knit and Natter, Board Games, Jigsaw Club or Family History Sharing Stories
Our Social Group Facilitator will help create a warm, friendly environment for people, encouraging conversation, recommendations and a shared interest.
Tasks
- Welcoming new people to the group
- Helping to facilitate conversation
- Support individuals to take an active part in group conversations through encouragement and motivation
- Advising about relevant skills
- Assisting with set up and tidy up
- Helping to promote the session
Skills and experience
- Friendly & welcoming person who enjoys chatting and meeting new people
- Some basic skills or knowledge
- Non-judgemental, open-minded and friendly attitude
- Able to talk with people of all backgrounds, ages and cultures
Other information
- Two references are required
- Weekly/Fortnightly/Monthly Sessions run for approx 1.5 - 2 hours
- Minimum age for this role is 18 years
