Apply for a Blue Badge

Blue Badges for people with hidden disabilities

From 30 August 2019, people with hidden disabilities can apply for a Blue Badge.

Although applications can be submitted from this date, there will be significant delays to processing applications under the new hidden disabilities criteria.

For information on the new criteria and to apply online, please visit GOV.UK

If you are disabled you can apply for a Blue Badge to help you park close to your destination. The cost of a badge is currently £10.

You can use a Blue Badge as a driver or as a passenger. You don’t need to own your own car.

You can check your eligibility for a Blue Badge here.

About the application process

It takes an average of 12 weeks to deal with a new application. You’ll need to submit documents and a photo. If you apply online and supply us with a current email address, you will be kept updated about the progress of your application.

If you would prefer to apply using a paper application form, see below.

If your application is successful it will be submitted to the national issuing office for processing.

For details about what you need to do, see the Blue Badge application process.
