Order death certificates
Order copies of death certificates for deaths which happened in East Sussex, excluding Brighton & Hove.
Certificates are only available after the death has been registered by a family member or other qualified informant.
Book an appointment to register a death
If your certificate order is urgent, we recommend using our ‘Priority Service’ as detailed below.

*Posted certificates are subject to Royal Mail delivery times in addition to the stated time frame.
- Please keep your order reference as you will need to quote it if there is a problem with your order. Call us on 0345 60 80 198 if something goes wrong.
- Your certificate(s) will be sent to the cardholder’s billing address.
- For the purposes of Public Protection and Counter Fraud, there are some additional restrictions on applications for the certificate of the death of a child.
