Local and family history
The Keep is a great place to start researching. There are resources available online and you can visit in person. These include:
- census records
- electoral registers
- street and trade directories
- building plans.
There are several local and family history groups. Search for these on East Sussex Community Information Service (ESCIS).
Libraries have many resources to help research local history, including:
- family history websites
- pictures of historical East Sussex - Flickr
- maps in libraries and archives
- tithe maps.
Your library may have a Family History Volunteer to help you. To find out more, please contact your local library:
