Short-term fostering

Could you provide a safe place for a child, for up to two years?
Children need fostering for lots of different reasons, including family breakdowns, neglect and abuse. There may not be other family members or friends who can look after them.
Coming into foster care can be a very strange and unsettling experience for any young person. As a short term foster carer you would be welcoming children into your home to be part of your family. You'll help them to feel safe and secure in a stable and caring home for up to two years.
You will be able to make a real difference in children's lives while they are in your care. Working as part of a professional team, you can support them with their education, emotional wellbeing, health and relationships with relatives and friends. You will be able to really help them with their transitions if they are able to return home or move on to other longer term carers in the future.
A couple of years or a year of calmness, love and affection can make a big difference to a child’s life.
