6. Skills to Foster training
The next stage is to begin our 'Skills to Foster' pre-approval training course. This looks at the emotional, legal, and practical aspects of fostering.
You have the chance to discuss what fostering might be like for you and your family, and your assessing social worker will support you every step of the way throughout the whole course and during your assessment meetings.
This training takes place across various sessions which will run alongside the other stages of your assessment. Some training sessions are online and some are face-to-face where you'll meet our trainers, current foster carers and other applicants going through the same training as you too.
For joint applications, both of you must complete all sessions.
