Crisis and Resilience Fund
The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) is a new scheme funded by the UK Government. It is designed to help people who are struggling with money or facing a financial crisis.
The CRF focuses on helping people become more financially stable, not just short‑term help.
It will provide:
- Crisis payments if you face a serious financial shock. This could be redundancy, bereavement, domestic abuse, fire or flood damage to your property.
- Advice and practical help including money and debt advice, budgeting, support to increase your income, or support to access food, employment and sustaining a tenancy.
- Joined‑up local services, so organisations work together to support you.
- Housing payments through your local district or borough council.
When will support be available?
Services will launch in stages. We are currently working to award a contract for the new crisis payments service in East Sussex. We expect this scheme to be available by September 2026. This page will be updated with full details and how to apply as soon as it is available.
If you already receive Discretionary Housing Payments from your local district or borough council, there will be no break in support.
