Order birth certificates
You can buy copies of birth certificates for births which happened in East Sussex, excluding Brighton & Hove.
Certificates are only available after the birth has been registered by a qualified informant.
If your certificate order is urgent, we recommend using our ‘Priority Service’ as detailed below.

- Posted certificates are subject to Royal Mail delivery times in addition to the stated time frame.
- Your certificate(s) will be sent to the cardholder’s billing address.

- For the purposes of Public Protection and Counter Fraud, there are some additional restrictions on applications for certificates of births within the last 50 years.
