Check your flood risk
The Environment Agency has produced flood maps showing areas which could be affected by flooding from rivers, the sea and following heavy rain (known as surface water flooding).
You can check what risk an area may be of flooding online at Check the long term flood risk for an area in England - GOV.UK.

Mapping alone cannot tell you how likely a property is to flood. A property’s resilience to flooding relies on several factors such as threshold height, finished floor level, the presence of airbricks and so on. For example, homes with steps leading up to their doors may be less likely to flood than homes with flat level access.
