Opioid overdose first aid training
Change, Grow, Live (CGL) are running overdose first aid training sessions which looks at drugs and behaviours most associated with an opioid overdose.
This simple and quick online course will highlight the importance of recognising an overdose and teach you how to give lifesaving first aid.
Who can attend
These sessions are designed for:
- outreach workers
- anyone using opiate based medications or heroin
- a carer, a friend or relative of a drug user
- a hostel manager
- a local business owner
- an individual working in an environment where there is a risk of opiate overdose for which the Nyxoid may be useful.
However, anyone can take part.
As a thank you for taking part in the training, we will give you a free first aid kit and a window sticker to display in your window to show that Nyxoid is available to use in an emergency situation.
On completion of your training, you will receive a digital certificate from Change, Grow, Live (CGL). You will also receive a survey to complete from East Sussex County Council, with details of how to collect your Nyxoid spray, first aid kit and window sticker.
Take a copy of your certificate, along with proof of employment to either Seaview in St Leonards or from CGL at Lift House, Eastbourne where you can collect your items.
