Restricting someone’s freedom

If you are worried that somebody’s care in a care home or hospital is too restrictive, you should contact us.

Examples may include:

  • not being allowed out unsupervised
  • bed rails or lap belts are being used to restrict movement
  • around-the-clock supervision

If this is being done without proper authority, this is called an unauthorised deprivation of liberty.
