Health Impact Assessment Toolkit

The Toolkit has been produced to support the implementation of Health Impact Assessment (HIA) requirements for planning applications with East Sussex.

The Toolkit includes:

  • HIA Manual for Planning Applications: ‘How to Guide’. This provides the context, aims, purpose, roles, and timings for each stage in the process. A step-by-step guide on when and how to complete the templates.

Templates:

(These downloadable templates are fillable word documents)

  • East Sussex Integrated HIA Screening and Scoping Template: Parts A, B, C, D - This supports both the screening and scoping stages.
  • East Sussex HIA Template Parts E, F, G – Once completed this is the HIA which should be submitted with a planning application.
  • East Sussex QA Checklist - This will be used by either Public Health or LPA Planning Officers to ensure the HIA is of an adequate quality.
