Sheltered housing
Sheltered housing is housing with support for older people or people with a disability. It is usually managed by your district or borough council or a housing association.
Most sheltered housing consists of a block of flats or group of bungalows with an on-site manager or a 24-hour lifeline call service. It often includes communal areas, such as a lounge, kitchen or garden.
To be eligible, you may need to join your local district or borough housing register. You can get more information from your local housing office:
