Carer’s personal budget

The carer’s personal budget is a one-off payment you may get if you care for an adult. It is used to meet your eligible needs where they cannot be met in other ways. You could use the payment for:

• leisure activities
• education and training
• improving your own care or wellbeing

You’ll need to have a carer’s assessment to find out if you are eligible.

• The amount you get depends on your needs.
• You cannot use it to pay for goods or services you have already bought, or to pay household bills.
