I, Trevor Scott, being the Deputy Returning Officer at the election of a County Councillor for the Heathfield & Mayfield Electoral Division held on Thursday 27 July 2023 do hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded for each Candidate at the said election is as follows:

1. A poll for the election of a County Councillor for Heathfield and Mayfield will be held on Thursday 27 July 2023, between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm.
2. The number of County Councillors to be elected is one.

Election of a County Councillor for Heathfield and Mayfield
- Forms of nomination for the County Election may be obtained at The Elections Office, Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 2AX.
- Nomination papers must be delivered to the Deputy Returning Officer, The Elections Office, Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 2AX on any day after the date of this notice but no later than 4 pm on Friday, 30th June 2023.
- If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 27th July 2023.
- Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 11 July 2023. Applications can be made online.
- Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Elections Office, Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 2AX by 5 pm on Wednesday, 12th July 2023.
- Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 19 July 2023. Applications can be made online.
- New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at The Elections Office, Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 2AX by 5 pm on Wednesday, 19th July 2023.

Local Government Act 1972
In accordance with Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, notice is hereby given that a casual vacancy has occurred in the office of councillor of the above county division, due to the death of Councillor Rupert Simmons.
An election to fill the vacancy shall be held within thirty-five days (so computed) after notice in writing of the vacancy has been given to me by two local government electors for the area.
