Overview
This privacy notice covers information provided as part of an application for Research Governance approval.

What information is being used?
When applying for Research Governance approval we ask for your:
- name and contact details including address, email and telephone number
- the name, job title and organisation of all researchers
- information about your professional experience
- proof of DBS checks if relevant

We will use your information to review your application for research governance approval.
The purpose of the approval is to ensure that quality research is carried out and protects the residents and staff of East Sussex County Council.
We will use your contact details to contact you with any questions on the application and to confirm approval.
We aim to maintain high standards, adopt best practice for our record keeping and regularly check and report on how we are doing. Your information is never sold for direct marketing purposes.
Our staff are trained to handle your information correctly and protect your confidentiality and privacy.
Your information is processed in the UK or in a country with an adequacy agreement with the UK.
Data provided on your application form and supporting documents will be stored for a maximum of one year.

- with the appropriate security controls in place
- in line with legislation.
