Trade, contractor and business user permits
Apply for a permit
Who can use a permit?
Tradespeople and contractors, for example plumbers and electricians, working in the controlled parking zone can buy permits.
In Hastings, these permits can also be purchased by businesses with premises within a residential parking zone.
In all other areas, you should only use a permit if you are:
- working on a property, which is not your permanent place of work
- only using it for business use, not personal use
You will need to provide proof of where you are working and how long the work will take, this could be an invoice or quote. Contact the customer service team if you need advice about what documents we accept.
In Rye, as there is a limited amount of parking, permits will be issued on a location by location basis and where there is not already a suspension or other trade permit in use. They will only be issued if it is essential for the vehicle to park at that location.
Permits are virtual and linked to the vehicle registration number.
The applications for and use of these permits will be regularly monitored to make sure parking reflects compliance with the permit terms and conditions. Misuse may result in permits being withdrawn or further applications being rejected.
How long are they valid for?
Permits in Hastings are available for either five or 10 hour periods.
In all other areas, permits are valid for one day and can be used in any zone. In Rye, the amount of time the permit is valid for may need to be restricted further.
Where can I park?
