East Sussex library card holders can access eMagazines and newspapers for free

Due to changes introduced by the providers, there has been a slight change to how you can access our eNewspaper and eMagazine offer. You will only be able to access these items from PressReader.

PressReader

To start reading you will need to set up an account on PressReader.

  1. Go to PressReader.
  2. Close the PressReader HotSpot pop up.
  3. Click on Sign In in the upper right hand corner.
  4. Choose Library or Group from the list.
  5. Search for East Sussex Libraries in the pop up and select.
  6. Enter the barcode from your library card into the pop up box, and sign in.
  7. Enter your name and email address and choose a password.
  8. Please read the terms of use and privacy policy before continuing to click Create my account.

You can read our digital content on a smartphone or tablet, or if you prefer a computer online. 

Please note:  A pop up will confirm that you can read newspapers online or download them to read offline free of charge for 30 days on your device.
At the end of the 30 days, simply sign out and back in again with your library card number to reactivate your free access for a further 30 days. Reactivate as many times as you wish! This applies to both laptop and smart device access

Reading on a smartphone or tablet

If you would like to use PressReader on a smartphone or tablet, download the app.

When you open the app for the first time:

  1. Click the Sign in icon (at the bottom of the screen for smartphones and along the left hand side for tablets).
  2. Enter the email address you registered with.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Click Sign in.

The ‘hot spot’ screen will appear. Close this down and start browsing for newspapers and magazines.

Read on your computer

Once you have registered on the website, you can start to browse and read content immediately.
