How we deal with reports

1. Overview

A main aim of East Sussex County Council’s Rights of Way Team is to protect and maintain footpaths, bridleways and byways. There are over 2,000 miles of Rights of Way in the County – which is about the same length as the road network. There are also a large number assets – around 3,600 bridges, 6,700 gates, 5,500 stiles, 1,400 sets of steps and 14,000 signs and waymarkers. When dealing with reports about problems on the network, it is therefore vital that we prioritise our work and deal with the most urgent problem first.
