King Charles III England Coast Path
The King Charles III England Coast Path is a new 2,700 mile walking route around the coast of England. It has been developed by Natural England, in partnership with local access authorities. It will be the longest walking route in the world and is being opened gradually in sections.
The section through East Sussex runs between Telscombe and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. A small section through Rye is currently in development. It then continues from Camber Sands through to Kent.
It provides a continuous walking route through varied terrain. Walkers can enjoy shingle beach, busy promenades and the beautiful Hastings Country Park. Rye Harbour Nature Reserve offers the chance to see coastal birds and other wildlife.
It also forms part of the roughly 350-mile South East England Coast Path, between London Borough of Bexley to Shoreham-by-Sea.
In East Sussex the Trail is managed by East Sussex County Council. South Downs National Park Authority maintain the section between Seaford Head and Beachy Head.
The Trail can be viewed via our online map. Problems found on the Trail can be reported via the online map or by emailing South East Coast Path Trail Officer
