Hours of work: 20 hours per week
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
(As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)
Fixed term for: 3 months, with the possibility of extension

Ticehurst and Flimwell is a rural primary school of 114 children on the Sussex/Kent border. We are a motivated and supportive team who are highly committed to the interests of our pupils in a context of nurturing the whole child and building relationships with families within our community.

The school is modern and has a spacious hall, library, ICT suite and four mixed aged-classes - each with outdoor courtyard areas. The outside environment is extensive with a playground, netball court, pond area, gardens, outdoor gym, outdoor classrooms, playing field and a forest school. There is parking on site and a large staffroom.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant (up to 20 hours per week, including MDSA responsibilities) to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team.

This role may include working 1:1, with small groups of children and supporting with whole class learning.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have the ability to provide classroom support and prepare appropriate resources
  • Work closely with our teaching team to provide support to an individual or groups of children
  • Have a calm, patient professional and most importantly friendly manor with the children
  • Be flexible, adaptable and learn quickly
  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm for making a difference to the lives of our wonderful children

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
