Are you an experienced manager committed to delivering high quality services to customers?

The Library and Information Service is seeking to recruit a Library Operations Manager to work as part of the management team to lead the operational delivery of the Library Service. This post will work with colleagues to ensure that a high-quality provision is delivered which focuses on the service's priorities from its strategy. Applicants will need to evidence business acumen, operational and people management skills, effective resource management and planning capabilities, organisational leadership and resilience and the ability to undertake responsibility for performance, standards and reporting requirements.

You will work with teams to deliver a range of projects and initiatives, to support literacy and numeracy and to help people into employment by developing their IT skills and offer initiatives to support wellbeing.  Many of these services will be delivered with the support of 300 volunteers.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have an interest in continuous service improvement and a good track record of project and people management
  • Are self-motivated and can enthuse and inspire others in their teams
  • Can solve complex problems and lead solutions with a variety of stakeholders and partners
  • Are able to develop strategies and implement solutions to operational issues and complex projects.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
