East Sussex County Council’s Flood Risk Management Team can provide information and bespoke advice regarding flood risk, sustainable drainage and owning a watercourse. This page provides details of all the services we provide, and how members of the public and commercial entities can request these services.
Fees associated with services cover our costs, ensuring that these services remain available into the future.

East Sussex County Council holds records of existing ordinary watercourse consents and assets considered to have the potential to impact flood risk (Flood Asset Register). These can be requested for free using the selection table below.

Service request form
To request any service please download, complete and send our Service Request Form to FRM@eastsussex.gov.uk
Use of the service request form ensures all information required to complete or arrange the service is available to the Flood Risk Management team and speeds up our response time.

Following submission of the service request form a member of the Flood Risk Management team will review the information submitted and calculate the total fee. A confirmation email, with details on how to pay the fee will then be provided.
Please be advised that applicants will have 30-days from receipt of the payment request email to make payment. Non-payment will result in the service request being closed, and a new request will need to be made should the applicant wish to proceed.
