School records

Every school keeps records about the students who go there. These records show:

  • what students have done or achieved
  • their attendance
  • their behaviour
  • any letters you or your family have sent to the school

East Sussex County Council does not keep these records for individual students.

When a child moves to another school, their record should go with them to the new school.

If you need a record from a school that has closed, you can ask the Customer Service and Information Governance Officer . They may not always have it, but they will try to help you.
