Health Lottery Foundation – Arts & Physical Activity for Adults - opens this month

The Health Lottery Foundation has announced its next funding round will open on Monday 20th April.

This round focuses on Arts & Activity projects that strengthen the health and wellbeing of adults aged 25 and over.   Projects should aim to improve health, wellbeing, confidence, social connection, or resilience.

It will fund projects using:

  • Music (group sessions, music therapy, song writing, singing groups, drumming, etc.)
  • Art (visual arts, craft, creative workshops, expressive arts therapy)
  • Sport & physical activity (non-competitive sessions, movement, gentle exercise, community fitness).

It will offer up to £25,000 for projects running for up to 12 months, with extensions for projects with extended timelines where this is clearly justified.

It welcomes applications from not-for-profit organisations, established for at least two years with an income between £300,000 - £5m. It welcomes partnerships.

Because this announcement provides only headline details visit the Health Lottery Foundation website when the round opens to read the full criteria and guidance.

This funding round will open Monday 20th April (9.30am) with a deadline Friday 1st May (noon).

Men’s Health Community Fund - Government and Philanthropy Partnership - opens this Summer

The Men’s Health Community Fund will invest at least £6.3 million in community and grassroots organisations working in the country’s most deprived areas, for men facing the worst health outcomes.

It is a new collaboration with the UK Government and leading men’s charity Movember, administered by the People’s Health Trust.

It backs community‑led projects that improve the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of men and boys aged 16+.

Projects can include:

  • Mental health support
  • Social connection activities
  • Practical help addressing financial insecurity, housing instability, unemployment, or other barriers to good health

The fund particularly encourages support during key life transitions such as becoming a father, losing a job, or retiring.

The fund will welcome applications from voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, especially small grassroots groups already working with men and boys or embedded in local neighbourhoods.

Government

Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) - Gambling Levy Transition Fund

The Gambling Levy Transition Fund provides short‑term support to not for profit organisations so they can continue gambling‑harm prevention or treatment services during the switch from the voluntary funding system to the new statutory levy.

This fund helps keep vital gambling‑harm services running so volunteers, staff and communities don’t face disruption during the national funding system overhaul.

It provides revenue costs only, such as staffing and essential running costs to keep services going.

Funding is up to three months of the organisation’s current voluntary‑system funding. Example: £120,000/year funding = max £30,000 grant.

Eligible organisations must be:

  • A charity or Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisation
  • Have used voluntary‑system funding between April 2024–March 2026
  • Be delivering relevant services in March 2026
  • Have applied to the new statutory levy funds and been fully rejected

Applications must be submitted by 30th April 2026 (11:59pm).

Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport - Cycling UK - Big Bike Revival Grants Programme

Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival aims to engage adults who face barriers to getting on a bike, by presenting cycling as a practical, normal and habitual way to get around locally. 

The fund supports events and activities that use the ‘fix-learn-ride’ model to provide sessions on fixing unused or broken bikes, learning sessions such as maintenance workshops or cycle training/upskilling, or offering low milage-led rides on local routes to build up the confidence of participants.

It offers grants of up to £3,500 to deliver activities between April - 30th October 2026

  • For Grants of £2,000, partners should be able to deliver at least six events
  • For Grants of £3,500, partners should be able to deliver at least ten events

It welcomes applications from volunteer‑led groups, not‑for‑profit organisations and community‑based social enterprises with experience supporting non‑regular cyclists and people facing social, economic or health barriers.

Lottery

The Space - Digital Commissions

The Space, using funding provided by Arts Council England, is supporting arts and cultural organisations to create new digital projects for audiences across England.

Projects must use digital elements to reach online or in‑person audiences. Eligible ideas include:

  • Video pieces
  • Audio work
  • Interactive experiences (e.g., games, websites)
  • Immersive formats (e.g., VR, 360° video)

The fund particularly welcomes innovative use of technology and projects that reflect England’s diversity.

It offers:

  • £5,000–£16,000 for digital commissions (incl. VAT)
  • Up to £8,000 for audio‑only projects.

Eligible costs cover fees, production, project management, rights, marketing, access support, software/hardware and contingency.  It also offers applicants additional support on digital production and distribution.

The Fund particularly welcomes applications from diverse-led and disabled-led organisations and from organisations based outside London, in particular those based in Arts Council England’s Priority Places.

It considers applications from art and cultural organisations, including museums, libraries, local councils and community organisations. Individuals with a suitable project can also apply if partnered with an organisation that can apply on their behalf.

Trusts and Foundations

Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) – Grants to Organisations

The Army Benevolent Fund’s Grants to Organisations Programme supports charities and not for profit organisations running projects and activities directly benefitting the Army community in six key areas: Independent Living; Elderly Care; Education and Employability; Mental Fitness; Families, and Housing.

Examples of projects and activities include helping soldiers adapt to life after service or assisting elderly veterans maintain independence.

ABF awards discretionary grant amounts, usually for one year. Organisations with whom the Fund has no established relationship are likely to be awarded below £20,000.

The Fund’s next deadlines are 28th April and 6th October 2026.  (These funding rounds are for organisations that have received an ABF grant in the last two years).

A further funding round will open from 8th December 2026 – 19th January 2027 for organisations that are new to the ABF or have not been funded by them over the last two years.

Barclays Community Sport Fund 2025 to 2027

Barclays Community Sport Fund supports increased participation in football, cricket and tennis among women, girls and underrepresented groups. 

It offers the following programmes:

Access Grants of £1,000 to sustain or increase participation for women, girls and underrepresented groups, including people with disabilities, the LGBTQ+ community and racially diverse backgrounds.  This is unrestricted funding for essentials (e.g. insurance, hire, coaching, equipment, kit and marketing).

Female Coaches for Girls Grants to cover the costs of Level 1 or equivalent coaching qualifications, upskilling two female coaches per organisation. (Football - £160; Tennis - £200; Cricket - £200).

Groups also receive access to match tickets, mascot places, promotional opportunities, advice and signposting to training and resources.

This Fund is open to charities, community groups and grassroots sports organisations.   Your organisation should operate in high‑deprivation areas (Indices of Multiple Deprivation 1–3), but there is flexibility for groups supporting women and girls facing barriers such as disability or rural isolation.

The Female Coaches for Girls Fund opens 8th July and closes 4th December 2026.

Asda Foundation - Local Community Spaces Fund

Asda Foundation’s Local Community Spaces Fund helps organisations fix, upgrade and protect their community buildings.

It’s offering grants of £10,000 - £20,000. It expects to wholly fund projects, but applicants can contribute up to £20,000.

Grants are for essential building work such as roof or floor repairs, new windows or doors, kitchen or toilet refurbishments, heating systems, security improvements and disabled access.

Asda’s Fund focuses on:                                                       

  1. Community centres or spaces hosting established community groups catering for a wide range of ages, demographics and needs and offer a variety of activities throughout the week
  2. Youth centres offering targeted support to youths in areas of high deprivation in a space that offers a variety of activities
  3. Centres which support the most vulnerable, in areas of high deprivation. Such as homeless shelters, food banks, dementia and elderly support, community cafes

Your community space must be open and accessible all year round.

This fund is open to small organisations, specifically: charities, Community Benefit Societies and Community Interest Companies registered for at least three years with an annual income between £40,000 and £400,000.

The deadline for applications is 28th April 2026.  The fund may close early if demand is high, so eligible groups are encouraged to act quickly.

Baily Thomas Charitable Fund

The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund supports work with children, young people and adults with severe learning difficulties.

The Fund defines learning disability as a global intellectual impairment (IQ below 70), beginning before age 18, and resulting in a need for support with everyday activities.

The Fund operates two general grant funding streams, a General Grant Programme for appeals over £5,000 and a Small Grant Programme for appeals of £5,000 and less.

Grants can cover capital or revenue costs and support both specific projects and core operating needs. 

The Fund backs a wide range of work, for example:  

  • Improvements to residential, nursing and respite care settings
  • Day and social activity centres and their running costs
  • Employment schemes in areas such as woodwork, crafts, horticulture and printing
  • Play and play therapy
  • Family support and respite services
  • Independent and community living initiatives

Most grants are one‑off, though the Trustees consider multi‑year support where new projects show strong progress.

The Fund is open to organisations registered with the charity commission.

You can apply for Small Grants at any time (applications considered monthly).  The Fund’s General Grants has deadlines - the next are 31st August and 31st December.

British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) – Big Salute

BFBS’s Big Salute enables small charities to strengthen the support they offer to veterans, reservists and armed‑forces families.

It awards up to £10,000 for purpose-driven projects that address the unique challenges faced by the military community.

Examples of previously funded projects include:

  • Families’ Activity Breaks (FAB) - support for camps for bereaved families
  • Veterans Chaplaincy for wellbeing walks, and lunch gatherings aimed at reducing isolation among veterans
  • Veterans into Logistics to fund HGV driver training for veterans

The Fund is open to registered charities.

The deadline for 2026 is 31st July 2026.  Projects should not begin before January 2027.

Childwick Trust

The Childwick Trust supports registered charities across Southeast working in healthcare.

It has a strong emphasis on helping charities which offer care and support for people who are terminally ill, or have a serious illness, older people, adults and children who have mental health problems or a learning disability.

It also gives help to both children and adults with physical disabilities. Organisations who offer care and support for ex-servicemen and women who have been injured or traumatised from past and recent conflicts can also be funded.

The majority of the Trust’s grants for their health category typically range between £5,000 and £20,000.  Funding can be used towards specialist equipment, respite care, holidays, education and core costs.

The Trust invites applications twice a year.  They are open for funding now with a deadline of 30th April.

Clore Duffield Foundation- Learning Spaces Schools Connect Programme

The Clore Duffield Foundation’s Learning Spaces Schools Connect Programme is offering multi‑year grants to help cultural organisations work more closely with state-funded primary and secondary schools that are otherwise missing out on arts and heritage opportunities.

The programme offers up to £150,000 over three years to support activity running from October 2026 to September 2029, giving organisations sustained funding to develop new school‑engagement work.

Eligible costs include:

  • Staff time for planning and delivering activities
  • Programme delivery materials
  • Small‑scale marketing to schools
  • Transport for schools
  • Teacher CPD and co‑design
  • Evaluation and cohort‑learning participation

This Programme is for organisations that already operate a Clore Learning Space and want to deepen their work with hard‑to‑reach state‑funded schools.

Clore Duffield Foundation - Small Clore Fund

The Foundation would like to support more small to mid-sized arts and heritage organisations, with grants of up to £250,000, to develop Clore Learning Spaces.

This could include building a new space or repurposing existing rooms.

The Fund is for arts, heritage organisations or libraries with charitable status, an annual turnover of less than £5 million, and a public facing remit.

Co–op Green Opportunities Fund

The Co‑op Green Opportunities Fund is offering £50,000–£100,000 for projects that inspire young people (ages 14–20) to explore green careers. 

It anticipates backing 5 to 10 projects that shift how young people see green careers and supports them to take real steps toward those futures. 

Projects can last for up to three years. Eligible activities include:

  • Workshops, programmes and campaigns
  • Mentoring
  • Social media and digital storytelling
  • Awareness‑raising and volunteering or hands‑on experiences

Projects should especially support young people from under‑represented backgrounds, including women, people of the global majority, disabled young people, and those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

Alongside application guidance, the Co-op provides a recorded webinar for anyone who would like to learn more about the fund.

Applying involves a two‑stage process, starting with an online application. Shortlisted groups are then invited to provide a full project plan, budget, outputs and outcomes, followed by an assessment call. 

This Fund is open to charities, Community Interest Companies, Co‑operatives and Community Benefit Societies.

The deadline for applications is 17th April 2026 (noon).

D'Oyly Carte Charitable Trust – Small Charities – Performing Arts, Creative Health and Heritage Crafts

This Trust supports work to improve access to arts, health or heritage activities.

The Trust supports the following:

  • Performing arts - especially community music‑making, performing arts engagement for underserved groups, and early‑career development
  • Creative health - arts-based interventions accessed through referral, young carers’ breaks, animal‑assisted therapy and horticulture
  • Heritage crafts - protecting rare skills and linking traditional crafts to training and employment

All projects must support communities facing barriers to opportunity.

The Trust accepts applications from charities (those registered with the charity commission or regulated exempt charities).

Grants generally range from £500 to £8,000.  Charites with an annual income below £250,000 can request unrestricted grants.

The deadline for applications for Small Charities (annual income under £5m) is 1st June 2026.

Fidelio Charitable Trust

The Fidelio Charitable Trust offers grants up to £5,000 to help exceptionally talented artists and groups take forward projects they couldn’t deliver without financial support.

The Trust is especially interested in artists/groups who are at an early stage in their careers.

The Trust accepts applications from institutions, colleges, arts festivals, or other recognised arts organisations, applying on behalf of artists they support in the arts -particularly music, opera, Lieder, composition, and theatre.

Their next deadlines for applications are 15th May and 25th September.

Green Community Grants Programme

The Wildlife Trusts Green Community Grants Programme offers flexible one-year grants of up to £25,000 to help charities and community groups improve nature in local areas.

It is for small not‑for‑profit groups with an annual income between £10,000 and £1m. 

It prioritises smaller organisations (income below £250k), those in the top 15% most deprived communities, and groups supporting marginalised people.

To be eligible for funding, your organisation's main aims and objectives must fit with one of their two funding themes:

  1. Contributing to nature recovery and responding to the climate emergency
  2. Improving nature-rich spaces and access to them

Whilst your organisational objects or purpose should fit one of these two themes, funding can also be used for a wider range of sustainable activities, including recycling, litter picking, beach cleans or sustainable transport.

The Programme has three applications windows this year (24th June–15th July and 30th September–1st October are the later rounds).

The window open for applications right now closes on 22nd April.

Goldsmiths’ Foundation – Open Grants Programme

The Goldsmiths’ Foundation supports organisations that focus on vocational skills and training, working at the intersection of creativity and social change.

Projects must involve hands‑on making - from core craft skills to specialist techniques like hand engraving, embroidery, or puppet‑making.

The Foundation aims to:

  • Build training infrastructure in underserved craft communities.
  • Champion skilled makers and their contribution to fairer communities
  • Grow networks that help craft practice flourish

It offers grants of between £30,000 and £50,000 which can be used for core costs and project activity.  

Its current funding round focuses on organisations working primarily in craft. A total of £600,000 is available.  The Foundation has provided a webinar for prospective applicants.

Henry Smith Foundation - Holiday Grants for Children

The Henry Smith Foundation’s Holiday Grants Programme offers grants from £500 and £3,000 to take children aged 13 and under on recreational day trips or short residential trips.

It prioritises projects that will benefit disadvantaged and disabled children in the most deprived areas - this means areas that fall within the bottom 20% according to the National Indices of Deprivation.  For groups of children with disabilities, more flexibility will be given regarding the level of deprivation.

The Foundation accepts applications from youth groups and non-profits with an organisational income below £2m, and schools.

The Foundation’s next deadline for applications is 19th August 2026 (note, this is for trips taking place from 1st May and 30th September 2026).

The High Weald Nature and Community Fund

The High Weald Nature and Community Fund is a £300,000 grant scheme supporting nature-based projects across the High Weald.

Charities, community groups, churches and landowners within the High Weald National Landscape are encouraged to apply. 

The Fund aims to:

  • Create new wildlife-friendly green spaces, such as community gardens, pocket parks and allotments, particularly in the High Weald’s towns and villages
  • Enhance and connect habitats, helping existing green spaces become richer for wildlife through projects such as pond creation, hedgerow and tree planting and installing bird, bat and insect boxes
  • Support community involvement, encouraging volunteers to help manage green spaces for wildlife and food growing, and providing resources, skills and training for community-led conservation projects
  • Help more people connect with nature, particularly those who may currently feel excluded from it, including young people, people living with disabilities, those experiencing physical or mental health challenges, and other underrepresented groups, by improving access to the High Weald landscape

Grants from £500 to £20,000 are available, with total funding available of £300,000. 

The High Weald team offers free online webinars about the Fund. The next session 19th May 2026 (10–11am).  

The deadline for initial enquiries is 12th June 2026, with a final deadline for applications of 13th July 2026.  

JJ Charitable Trust - Literacy Small Grants Scheme

JJ Charitable Trust’s Small Grants Scheme supports work directly helping children and young people develop literacy skills, with a focus on those with learning difficulties such as dyslexia. 

The Trust particularly focuses on areas of social need and those at risk of non-inclusion in society and the world of work.

It is especially interested in projects using volunteers and reading mentors, and work helping beneficiaries during transitional points, for example, moving from primary to secondary school, into further education, college, or the workplace.

You can apply for £5,000 - £20,000. The Trust also provides multi-year funding up to 3 years.

You don’t need to have a new literacy project specific for the grant – you can apply for funding for your existing literacy work.

The Fund accepts applications from registered charities, exempted charities, Charitable Incorporated Organisations and Community Interest Companies.

It is open for applications at any time. The next cut-off points for the next two funding rounds are 3rd June and 1st October 2026.

Leathersellers – Main Grants Programme

The Leathersellers’ Foundation supports charities working with vulnerable people.  

It offers:

  • Small Grants: Up to £5,000 for one‑off projects supporting vulnerable people in areas of high deprivation.  (Small grants are for small charities with under £200k annual expenditure and limited reserves)
  • Main Grants: £20,000–£25,000 per year, for up to 4 years, towards core costs. (Main grants are for charities with £200k–£2m income using trauma‑informed, evidence‑based approaches to reduce the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences)

The Foundation accepts applications from registered charities (including CIOs).

The Small Grants Programme has eight application windows throughout the year and each window closes when 40 applications have been received.  This can happen within an hour of a round opening.

National Archives - Project Grants

The National Archives Project Grants Scheme is for collaborative projects between at least one GLAM organisation (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) or Heritage organisation and one community group.

It offers grants up to £30,00 to support in-depth research, skills development, and the creation of lasting resources that reflect diverse voices and experiences.

Projects should be co-designed and community-led, with a focus on inclusion, sustainability, and impact.

Interested applicants can see the National Archives webinar about the scheme, what it seeks to fund and how to apply.

The National Archives strongly encourages applicants to contact its Community Hub team about their proposals at an early stage before applying.

It is open now with a deadline for applications on 12th June 2026, followed by a second round running from 1st September – 13th November 2026.

Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation

The Skipton Building Society Foundation supports registered charities helping people experiencing hardship and/or underserved groups.

It has two areas of interest:

1.    Access a place to call home with the following target outcomes:  

  • Access and support into a safe and secure permanent place to call home – supporting charities that enable people most in need to live independently
  • Access and support into a safe and secure temporary home in times of crisis. Enabling people into temporary accommodation in emergency situations such as homelessness, palliative or end of life, or for those experiencing domestic abuse

2.    Improve financial wellbeing with the following target outcomes:

  • The support needed to prevent and/or address financial difficulty. Support for charities who provide help and guidance on how to manage money and improve financial wellbeing
  • Access to financial education. Support for charities whose work will support financial independence and education

The maximum grant available is £5,000. You can use this for core costs, project costs, and small capital contributions.

The Foundation accepts applications from registered charities supporting people in the top 50% of the UK Index of Multiple Deprivation.

The Foundation next opens for applications 1st September (9am). Each application round is limited to 150 submissions.  Once this threshold is reached, applications will close and will not reopen until the next cycle.

Theatres Trust Small Grants Scheme

The Trust funds small capital improvements that will make a big impact to theatres’ resilience, sustainability or accessibility, or improve the diversity of audiences.

The Trust awards up to £7,500.

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Own or manage theatres with titles or signed leases of more than five years
  • Run a regular theatre programme of professional, community and/or amateur work presenting no less than 30 performances a year.

The Trust is open to not-for-profit organisations that own and / or operate a venue. This includes local authorities or Town and Borough Councils that own and/or operate a venue.

Youth Music Trailblazer Fund – Round 13

The Youth Music Trailblazer Fund offers grants of £2,000 to £30,000 to not-for-profit organisations to run projects for children and young people (25 or under) to make, learn and earn in music.

Your project should trial work or test a new way of working, sustain a grassroots programme or disrupt the status quo (or all three).

Your work must meet one of the Fund’s themes:

  • Early years
  • Disabled, d/Deaf and neurodivergent young people
  • Youth justice system
  • Young people facing barriers
  • Young adults
  • Organisations and the workforce
