Advising families at Level 1 and Level 2

Children’s Services do not usually offer advice about Level 1 and 2 needs.

If the Continuum of Need indicates Level 1 or Level 2:

These are Universal 1 and Universal Plus services when children’s needs:

  • can be met by parents
  • could be met with expert support and guidance

Make a referral to Family Hubs groups, courses and activities

The Family Hubs run groups, courses and activities across East Sussex that professionals can refer families to. These support better outcomes for children and their families.

Make a referral via the Children's Portal

Subjects include:

  • parenting skills
  • speech and language development
  • mental health and wellbeing support
  • healthy lifestyles

Young people aged 10 to 19 (up to 25 if they have special educational needs)

Youth Hubs are welcoming spaces where young people can try new things, such as music, cooking, and other fun activities. They are a  great place to learn skills, make friends, and to have somewhere to go when you need them. If you ever want someone to talk to, we’re here for that too.

The hubs are:

  • LGBTQ+ friendly
  • Welcoming to young people with SEND
  • Open, safe and supportive for everyone
