East Sussex celebrates Foster Care Fortnight 2025
We appreciate foster carers and their unique role every day (and night) they spend changing the lives of the young people in their care. From 12th to 25th May, all those involved in any aspect of fostering join together and reflect on the strength of the relationships around them which support fostering journeys.
It's an annual spotlight for the fostering community and this year's theme is 'The Power of Relationships'. There are so many relationships running a thread through all fostering stories. Relationships that support the children and their families who need us, relationships which support the foster carers too - which includes social work staff, fostering families, partners, children, and extended family, friends and colleagues of foster carers. It's a huge network!
Please join us in...
💭 Thinking about and acknowledging who supports you
💪 Thanking people who are important to you (they don't always realise how important they are)
🔦 Sometimes it's the little things in a relationship that help the most - shine a light on them
✍️ If you're one of our foster carers, care-experienced children or children of fostering families - please email your placard message to fostering@eastsussex.gov.uk
✍️ ...or share your comment on any of our social media posts (share them too - you might know someone who would make a great foster carer)
🤝 Thank you to The Fostering Network for theming this year's celebrations ⭐
