Environment East Sussex (EES)
Newhaven Business Grants Programme
The Newhaven Business Grants Programme is now open, offering up to £15,000 to businesses in the Newhaven Town Deal area for capital growth projects.
Established in 2018, Environment East Sussex (EES) is the county’s strategic body for the environment and climate change, aiming to drive an improvement in environmental quality across East Sussex.
EES is a partnership of organisations from the private, public and educational sectors, all based or operating within East Sussex.
Environment Strategy
The EES Board developed the East Sussex Environment Strategy in 2020 and the East Sussex Climate Change Road Map in 2022, both of which can be viewed here:

Since their publication, light-touch reviews of both the strategy and the road map have been carried out.
In light of the significant changes brought about by new legislation and policies, notably the Environment Act 2021, a more in-depth review of the Environment Strategy is currently taking place through summer/autumn 2024, with an updated version expected to be published before the end of the year.
