Flexibus is changing
New booking app and online booking for April trips
Flexibus trips taking place before the end of March 2026 can be booked as usual via Ride Pingo and over the phone.
Trips that take place from 1 April onwards can be booked:
- using the new Flexibus app/online booking system available on this page from 25 March
- over the phone, from 1 April (no advance phone bookings 25 March-31 March).

What else is changing?
From 1 April 2026, Flexibus will no longer operate on Saturdays and the maximum journey radius will change to 9 miles. This will help us focus our resources on the busiest days and areas.

About booking
All bookings are made via the app or call centre. No bookings can be made with drivers.
When can I book?
You can book just 30 minutes before you want to travel and up to 7 days in advance.
Booking for others
Book for up to 9 passengers per trip. All passengers (including those travelling free) must be included, so the right number of seats are booked. If you book for someone else, it's better to do it over the phone so that the right passenger name is added to the trip.
Flexibus will pick up/drop off other passengers, so a journey may take longer than you expect. To help make rides as efficient as possible, passengers cannot make changes to their journey after it has started.
Ride confirmation
In-app booking confirmation, or a phone call (if we have your number) with estimated pick up and drop off times.
Your ride confirmation will be the vehicle number plate. The driver will check your booking details when you board. All buses will have the Flexibus branding on the side and the front.
Payment receipts are sent via email.
Paying your fare
Pay in the app, show your ticket/pass, or pay for a pre-booked journey when you get on the bus. You can use cash, card or contactless. You can't pay over the phone.

Cancellation and missed rides
Cancel a booking via the app or by phone. If you cancel up to 30 minutes before the start of your booking, you will receive a full refund.
Missed rides delay other passengers and you will be charged in full - please cancel where possible. If you make frequent cancellations or miss rides, your account may be suspended.
