About booking
All bookings must be made via the app, website or call centre. You cannot book directly with drivers or board a bus without a booking.
When can I book?
You can book up to 7 days in advance.
You can book on the day of travel but may find there is no available vehicles for your preferred time. If you choose ‘next available’ when you book, the system will search for a bus for you.
Flexibus services are generally not suitable for regular trips such as school trips or commuting to work and must have a minimum 60 minute gap between them.
Journey length
If you need to arrive by a specific time for an appointment or onward travel, please ensure you use the 'arrive by' option when making your booking.
Flexibus will pick up/drop off other passengers, so a journey may take longer than you expect.
Booking for others
You can book for up to 9 passengers per trip. All passengers (including concessions) must be included, so the right number of seats are booked.
If you book on behalf of someone else, please ensure the details of the passenger are added to the trip.
Ride confirmation
You will receive a notification confirming your trip and providing a pick-up window by SMS or automated phone call.
You will also receive automated reminders of the booking.
Please ensure you have provided a phone number (preferably a mobile number) in order for you to receive these notifications, and in case we need to call you to resolve:
- Delays or changes to pick up times
- Service disruptions on the day of travel
- Issues affecting your return journey
Paying your fare
Pay in the app, show your ticket or pass, or pay for a pre-booked journey onboard. You can use cash, card or contactless. You can't pay over the phone.

Cancellations, changes and missed rides
Cancel a booking via the app, web booker or by phone.
To help make rides as efficient as possible, we discourage passengers from making changes to their journey within 30 minutes of its scheduled start.
Missed rides delay other passengers - please cancel where possible. If you make frequent cancellations or miss rides, your account may be suspended.
