Please note the following availability for ceremony bookings:

  • Mayor's Parlour and Rossetti Room are available to book for ceremonies taking place up to 31 January 2027.
  • Council Chamber is available to book for ceremonies taking place between 9 November 2026 and 31 January 2027.

Hastings Town Hall

Situated in the town centre this beautiful Victorian building is home to Hastings Register Office. Inside you'll discover a wealth of grandeur including a magnificent Gothic-style marble staircase, original stained glass windows and a number of portraits. A floor-to-ceiling stained-glass window on the staircase's half landing offers a beautiful backdrop for photos. 

Room capacities include everyone except the registrars, the couple, all guests including witnesses, children and babies, photographers, videographers and musicians. Room capacities are determined by fire regulations and cannot be exceeded.

There are no changing facilities at the town hall, you and your guests should arrive dressed and ready for the ceremony.

Mayor's Parlour

Capacity: 15 (couple plus 13)

Available until 31 January 2027

The Mayor's Parlour, located on the first floor, is the perfect room for intimate celebrations, of up to 13 guests. This luxuriously decorated room, in a blue and gold colour scheme, features a beautiful fireplace, a stunning chandelier, and two ornate sofas that can seat 6 to 8 guests. 

Rossetti Room

Capacity: 20 (couple plus 18)

Available until 31 January 2027

Named after the poet and painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who married artist, model, and poet Elizabeth Siddal in Hastings in 1860. Inspired by the Victorian Arts and Crafts movement, the décor features William Morris style wallpaper and two bottle green Chesterfield style sofas. A print of Rossetti's 'La Ghirlandata' hangs above the fireplace, and a copy of the couple's marriage certificate is displayed on an adjacent wall. This room is located on the ground floor. 

Council Chamber 

Capacity: 60 (couple plus 58)

Available from 9 November 2026 until 31 January 2027

Located on the first floor of the Town Hall, the Council Chamber is accessed through impressive ornate doors and offers an elegant setting for larger ceremonies. This spacious room features oak-panelled walls, rich red carpeting and seating, a grand vaulted ceiling, beautiful stained-glass windows, a Bath stone fireplace, and a central aisle, creating a truly memorable backdrop for your celebration.

Fees

Ceremony fees include the hire of the ceremony room, your registrars, two legal certificates and one commemorative certificate. 

Parking

The Town Hall does not have dedicated parking. There are several paid car parks and on street parking options within a 10 minute walk. These include; Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, Wellington Square, Castle Hill, and Hastings Station. There is a drop off point directly outside the town hall.
