Statutory ceremonies
A statutory wedding or civil partnership is a brief, no-frills registration held in a small office at Crowborough Register Office.
- Marriage registrations are held on the second Tuesday of each month.
- Civil partnership registrations are held on the third Tuesday of each month.
Bookings are assigned to the next available slot on a first-come, first-served basis; you cannot book a later date if an earlier one is available.
These appointments are strictly limited to the couple and two witnesses. No additional guests, including children are permitted. You must arrange your own witnesses, we cannot provide them for you.
If you wish to celebrate at a venue of your choice, choose a specific date, invite more guests, or include personal elements, a statutory registration might not be the most suitable option for you. For more flexible options, please see our Weddings and civil partnerships page.
Fees
A fee of £91 is payable on booking.
This includes:
- Your registrars
- Two legal certificates
- One commemorative certificate
