Renewal of vows ceremonies

The image is a close-up shot focusing on two hands, one visibly darker in skin tone than the other, both forming a gentle fist or a relaxed clasp. Each hand wears a simple, light-coloured band on one of their fingers, suggesting wedding or engagement rings.

Renewing your vows is a wonderful way of celebrating your relationship, marking a milestone or special anniversary. These ceremonies are a heartfelt way for married couples, or civil partners to affirm their ongoing love and commitment.

Where can we hold the ceremony?

Because they are celebratory and not legally binding, we can conduct your renewal of vows ceremony anywhere in East Sussex, excluding religious or political premises.

Any venue outside of our register offices will be subject to a risk assessment by East Sussex Registration and may require evidence of public liability insurance.

Fees

Here you can find fees for celebration ceremonies

The ceremony

Following a standard ceremony structure, you'll be invited to include personal elements and along with our registrars create a ceremony that is both meaningful and memorable. Further information about the ceremony and the ways you can personalise will be provided once your booking has been confirmed.

Commemorative certificates

One commemorative certificate is included in the fee. You’ll sign this during the ceremony, making for a lovely photo opportunity as well as having a keepsake of your special day.

Additional certificates and other commemorative products are available to purchase by contacting the Ceremonies Hub 0345 60 80 198.

Ceremony personalisation appointment

Personalisation appointments allow you the opportunity to meet with a registrar to finalise the details of the ceremony. You'll review and complete the options form, deciding on personal additions, such as, readings, music, and personal vows.

These appointments will take place at a register office with one of our experienced registrars. This may not be the same registrar who conducts your ceremony, but they will be able to help you with your preparations and answer any questions you have.

A fee of £50 is payable for a personalisation appointment.
