What is family learning
East Sussex County Council are funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) to provide family learning opportunities. We do this by working in partnership with schools, children’s centres and local training providers.
These free family learning activities are for parents, grandparents, carers and children to learn new skills and knowledge.
Some of the courses we provide:
- Family First Aid
- Parent and Child Signing
- Outdoor learning
- Family maths and English
- And many more.
Our service was judge as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Here is our most recent report:

Funding
The Education and Skills Funding Agency has funding rules. The rules say all providers who subcontract must publish a supply chain fees and charges policy. This means the information is open to the public.
