Come and join our creative learning environment!

Hankham Primary School is a small rural primary school set in the idyllic hamlet of Hankham, which lies between Eastbourne and Hailsham. Visitors to our school regularly comment on its beautiful setting.

Our pupils are caring and well behaved. Our staff team is small and supportive of each other and of the school’s values. Being a small school allows us to really get to know our pupils and the school has a "family feel".

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the team in undertaking day-to-day classroom responsibilities in our school. This will include some whole class cover and break and lunch duties. The successful candidate will join a well-established, highly committed team of staff, working in an inspirational and vibrant environment.

We are looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude, who can use their own initiative and also work as part of a team. You will need a good rapport with children, and the ability to communicate with them clearly and calmly.

 The successful candidate will:

  • Have a good level of literacy and mathematical skills
  • Be dedicated to providing a secure and inspiring learning environment where children can thrive
  • Be effective in establishing positive, professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Support the daily planned activities for the children
  • Responsible for keeping records and providing feedback to the class teacher in relation to children's progress and achievement

Working pattern of 8.45am - 1pm three days per week, to include a 15 minute unpaid break daily.
