Are you an inclusive leader who is passionate about making services the best they can be for every resident? Then this exciting role, driving change and leading a committed and experienced team, could be for you.

In Adult Social Care and Health, we work with East Sussex residents aged 18 and over to enable them to live as healthy and independent a life as they can, for as long as they can. Our inclusion and support services play a critical role in ensuring that the support we offer is equitable and the best it can be. We believe that residents voices and experience must be at the heart of what we do. You will be responsible for leading a team who work across a range of areas from complaints to equalities, governance to emergency planning.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • compassionate and inclusive leadership and management skills,
  • strong communication skills including negotiation and influencing,
  • understanding of legislation and translating policy into practice,
  • the skills and experience to manage change and to ensure lessons are learned from complaints, insight, and feedback,
  • a flexible, practical, and resident-centred approach to problem solving, particularly under pressure, and
  • experience or understanding of some of the following areas of work – admin support, business continuity and emergency planning, risk, complaints, communication, information and advice, equalities, governance and insight.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

To apply for this role please follow the ‘Apply Now’ button above. When completing your application be sure to address how you meet all the criteria in the person specification drawing on any relevant work/life experience, education or personal interests

Interviews will take place at County Hall in Lewes. The date will be confirmed after the shortlisting has taken place.

The team works flexibly with a mix of home and office working that is adaptable to people’s life circumstances, built around a core commitment of one day per week in the office. We also offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment, with more information on our benefits page.
