Are you a confident Chartered Surveyor with wide-ranging property experience? Do you have a proven ability to confidently provide good quality technical advice in relation to a variety of Landlord and Tenant Matters, including lease consultancy and property management? If so, we would love to hear from you.

The purpose of this role is to assist with the delivery of the Estates Management function for the County Council’s mixed property portfolio. The Senior Estates Surveyor will play a key role in supporting the department in carrying out all aspects of the management of the Council’s commercial, operational, educational and community property portfolios.

We are looking for a candidate who can;

  • Manage a caseload, covering a wide variety of landlord and tenant matters including property management, through to rent reviews and lease renewals and disposals and acquisitions.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to maximise income and reduce expenditure in relation to the Council's property portfolio
  • Work with external and internal clients, providing good quality and reasoned technical property advice upon which informed decisions can be taken, representing internal clients where appropriate

The Estates team works flexibly in order to meet the needs of its clients and external stakeholders, whilst ensuring a good work/life balance. The team can work from home if they wish with an expectation that one day a week is spent at our office in County Hall, Lewes. Part-time hours will be considered.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
