The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.

The Governing Board of St Thomas’ C of E Aided Primary School would like to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Class Teacher.

The position is full-time; we welcome applications from experienced teachers and we are also happy to support and nurture Early Careers Teachers.

St Thomas’ has 5 classes, teaching in mixed year age groups. The post would be based in KS2, however there is flexibility as to the class/year groups depending on the successful applicant’s experience or interests and this can be discussed at interview.

The successful applicant will need to;

  • Have high expectations of children’s achievements, academically, physically, socially, spiritually and creatively
  • ​Provide enriched learning opportunities so our children can thrive in an exciting and engaging curriculum and classroom learning environment
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to support the learning of all children
  • Know how to make effective use of support staff in the classroom
  • Be willing to support the ethos, vision and values of our school
  • Build positive relationships with their class and the wider school community
  • Be an organised, proactive, self-motivated professional
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be willing to collaborate with both colleagues and our wider school community
  • Have Qualified Teacher Status

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
