Do you want to join our exciting Keywork Service and help families across East Sussex?

Then apply below to join us and become part of our ambitious and successful Early Help 0-19 Service.

We are developing a new L2 Keywork Team that will deliver short term support focusing on increasing attendance at school – the Team will work with children and young people where school attendance has dropped below 50%

Working in the keyworker role you will be responsible for delivering a range of interventions with families on your caseload. You will complete assessments with each family and develop an Early Help Plan that identifies clear and measurable targets. You will then work closely with family members providing targeted support to assist them to make the changes identified in the Plan.

We are looking for candidates who will rise to the challenge of working with families that are experiencing difficulties around school attendance and a range of related issues including educational learning support and mental health. You should be a good communicator, able to engage with professionals, colleagues and families.

Key tasks include:

  • Able to create and deliver packages of support for a caseload of families with a range of needs and to act as the lead professional to support the family to reduce barriers to attending school and develop strategies for continued good attendance.
  • Work with all family members to undertake an assessment of needs and develop a Plan which encompasses individual family members needs and characteristics in relation to equality and diversity; that has clear and measurable targets for change that are agreed by the family.
  • Deliver evidence based be-spoke programmes of support that are flexible and creative e.g. Parenting and behaviour etc, working within the family home and virtually using a variety of intervention methods including motivational interviewing and solution focused approaches.
  • Work with partner agencies to provide a co-ordinated response to safeguard the family and ensure the best use of organisational resources to embed change.

To apply for this role please follow the ‘Apply Now’ button above. When completing your application be sure to address how you meet all the criteria in the person specification drawing on any relevant work/life experience, education or personal interests.

Please note this role is open to people with experience of working with children, young people and families that hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant area. You will need Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English or be prepared to undertake an assessment.

We offer a great package of professional training to develop you and to give you the ‘tools to do the job’. If you do not have a L4 Qualification you will have the opportunity to undertake a recognised qualification within your work time.

You will be part of a Team of L2 Keyworkers and will receive good supervision from an experienced manager.

Interviews will be scheduled within two weeks of the job advert closing and will be face to face or remotely via Microsoft Teams. We will try to accommodate any special requests for the interview slot if you are shortlisted for the role.
