You will be based within the Commercial & Employment section of Legal Services (predominantly undertaking Contracts and Procurement work), but shall be expected to complete work in other areas of law in order to comply with the SRA training contract requirements.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are self-motivated;
  • Have a commitment to training and self-development; and
  • Wish to pursue a career in Local Authority law.

A training contract within a local authority is a unique experience, which enables you to do work which is meaningful and purposeful to your wider local community and can provide an alternative legal career to private sector law firms.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
