Our vision is to provide exceptional care, learning and support to the children placed at Lansdowne Secure Children’s Home, and facilitate their successful resettlement back into the community. We will achieve this through providing an enthusiastic and empathic staff team with an exceptionally well-resourced home that offers a modern, light, nurturing environment, complimented by a first-rate training and development programme. Above all else we will show kindness, and strive for children placed at Lansdowne to feel safe and loved”.

Lansdowne Secure Children’s Home has the ambition to be the leading Secure Children’s Home in the UK and we’re looking for  creative and innovative teaching assistants who have the passion to achieve this with us! At present the home is rated Good by Ofsted and undergoing a temporary unforced closure whilst we carry out an ambitious project to relaunch as a centre of excellence in late 2023.

If you’re a teaching assistant looking for your next challenge, then join the team at Lansdowne and make a significant difference to the young people’s vocational and academic ambition.

As a Teaching Assistant you’ll support pupils to achieve the best possible outcomes at school. Using key communication and interpersonal skills you will create and establish effective relationships with the pupils and colleagues.

The successful candidate will be able to quickly assess and adapt activities to suit the young person and their learning needs. Ideally you’ll be aware of teaching and learning, behaviour and safeguarding policies as well as have experience of supporting children in an educational setting. Due to the challenging environment of this role, you’ll also need to have resilience.
