Is training and developing staff your passion?  Then why not consider applying to join the Adult Social Care Training Team?

The Adult Social Care Training team develops, plans, designs and delivers about 700 courses to approximately 12 000 staff every year. Not only do we have a huge offer to our own colleagues, but we offer free training to our Independent Care Provider colleagues, as well as a range of multi-agency training through the Safeguarding Adults Board.

This training is a mixture of mandatory and developmental and is often bespoke and tailored to a particular service or team. Evaluating feedback from participants and partner organisations, ensures delivery is current, fit for purpose and supports the workforce to provide the best possible support to the clients and families of East Sussex.

As either a qualified and registered Social Worker, Nurse, or Occupational Therapist, you will lead on a multi-agency approach to the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. You will work alongside other trainers, partners, and managers to implement a training programme that meets the needs of staff across East Sussex. . Having 1st hand operational knowledge and experience of the MCA and DOLs will be essential for you to provide the best knowledge and evidence-based training.

The role will also include developing and delivering training and resources on a variety of related topics such as: Mental Capacity Act 2005, safeguarding adults, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Care Act 2014, and self-neglect.

You will receive a thorough induction, and individualised support through a range of training and development opportunities.  You will have the opportunity to build on your own skills, and to continue to learn and develop, enabling you to succeed in this role and to reach your career goals and aspirations.

There will be a two-stage face to face interview. You will be asked to prepare and deliver a PowerPoint presentation and a panel of three members of the Training Team will ask you a series of questions, enabling you to demonstrate your knowledge, skills and experience and passion for developing the skills and competencies of the workforce.
