If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for someone to join our fabulous Bluebell Federation as an individual needs assistant working with a child with Special Educational Needs at Chailey St Peter's  CE Primary School.

The hours of work will be Monday - Friday term time only from 8.40am - 3.15pm with a 30 minute lunch break each day. The child the successful candidate will be supporting is currently in Year 1, and will require support until they leave school, which we anticipate to be at the end of Year 6.

We are a small rural school where our love of children sits at the heart of all that we do. Chailey St Peter's School is truly a special place to work and we are excited to welcome someone new into our Chailey St Peter's family.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support one individual child with Special Educational Needs on a one-to-one basis;
  • Supervise and take care of the child during the lunch time period in all areas, inside and outside of the school.

This is a busy and varied role, but we will help you to get the support you need to succeed.

The successful candidate will need:

  • To have experience of supporting children in a classroom environment;
  • To have knowledge and understanding of child development;
  • To be effective at establishing good relationships with pupils, staff and parents;
  • To have good maths and English skills;
  • To have high expectations of themselves and pupils;
  • To embrace the Christian ethos of the school;
  • To promote a positive image of the school through their work and attitude.

Previous school experience preferred, but all applications considered. Visits are strongly encouraged and can be arranged by contacting Emma Callcott, School Business Manager on 01825 722356 or via email: ecallcott@bluebellfederation.co.uk.

 (Please note that as the position is term-time only the salary will be pro rata.)
