Hurst is a thriving, co-educational day and boarding school for pupils age 4-18 situated in the West Sussex countryside. The College comprises a Sixth Form, Senior School, Senior Prep, and Junior Prep with over 1,300 pupils in all.

Situated within a 140-acre Campus this superb location is just 20 minutes from the city and beaches of Brighton and Hove, whilst London train stations can be reached in under an hour.
Hurst offers its own highly competitive salary scale, benefits package and membership of the Teacher’s pension scheme.

The Department: Business is a popular subject at Hurst; it is always in the top few subjects selected across the Sixth Form and frequently one of the most popular degree choices also. The department comprises six teachers across Business and Economics, and the opportunity has arisen for a new teacher given the continued expansion of the subject.

Our core-belief as a department is that the use of real-world business case studies is the key to helping students engage with the material covered. We hope to inspire students into wanting to be successful in the world of commerce in addition to exam success.

What We Offer:

  • An engaging and collaborative environment with plenty of existing, shared resources
  • Opportunities to immerse students in practical experiences through programs like Young Enterprise.
  • A chance to shape the minds of engaged students who are genuinely interested in the subject

About the Role: As a Teacher of Business in our Sixth Form you'll guide A-level students through the intricacies of business functions, including marketing, finance, people, and operations management in both a UK and global context. The department follows the Pearson Edexcel curriculum, with classes split across two teachers. An ability to offer a second subject, whether that be Economics or any other subject offered at Hurst would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject.
  • QTS (desirable, not essential).
  • Proven track record of excellence in an education setting.
  • Strong evidence of continuous professional development.

Who We're Looking For: We're seeking an individual who is proactive, organised, and committed to fostering an environment where students can unlock their full potential. Whether you're a well-qualified ECT or an experienced teacher looking for a second post, we welcome your enthusiasm and expertise.

If you are excited by this opportunity and wish to apply, please complete an application form and send to Recruitment@hppc.co.uk

Hurstpierpoint College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including an online presence and adverse media review, checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service
