Do you have a love of writing and a keen eye for detail?

Do you enjoy working with others on a varied workload?

Then this is the job for you!

As a Senior Policy and Guidance Officer you will work closely with individuals and teams across our Adult Social Care and Health department to develop, write and implement policy, information and practice guidance in East Sussex.

Much like Adult Social Care and Health, the role is wide ranging. Effective research and horizon scanning is of the utmost importance to ensure that senior managers are kept up to date with best practice, relevant legislation and new initiatives. You will be pivotal in ensuring this work informs our strategic planning, and information we share with staff and the public is clear and meaningful.

So if you are a highly organised individual, with an ability to forge strong working relationships, and experience of writing and evaluating policy, information and project work, then we would love to hear from you!

To apply for this role please follow the ‘Apply Now’ button above. When completing your application be sure to address how you meet all the criteria in the person specification drawing on any relevant work/life experience, education or personal interests.

We would consider applications from ESCC operational staff on a secondment basis – with line management approval.

Interviews will take place in person at County Hall, Lewes BN7 1UE week commencing 11 March 2024 . If you are unavailable this week, please let us know and we may be able to schedule an alternative date to interview you.

We offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment. More information can be found on our benefits page.

We would consider recruiting to this post on a job-share arrangement or part-time basis. For an informal discussion about this opportunity contact Lexi Garabedian, Information and Guidance Manager on alexia.garabedian@eastsussex.gov.uk to request a Microsoft Teams call or phone call.
