We are offering an exciting opportunity for someone skilled in MIS data management and with an excellent understanding of school business processes, to join our successful Schools ICT Support team. 

This role will provide you with opportunities to challenge yourself and develop new skills every day and to gain job satisfaction from knowing you have helped our customers to make the very best use of the resources they have and to use data insight to make important decisions. A large element of this job is building professional relationships and delivering high quality customer service. . 

Our Business Systems team comprises of 6 colleagues within an overall Schools ICT service of around 55 team members who deliver traded high-volume, high-quality IT services with a ‘personal touch’ to schools and other education and public sector customers, within the Orbis IT & Digital Customer & Partnerships group. 

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Supported/used various MIS systems in a secondary school – particularly academic management and timetabling.
  • Experience of working in a support team or a school.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Experience of delivering training.
  • Knowledge of third party tools, Office 365 and PowerBI.

Key activities include the following: 

  • Design and delivery of training & consultancy to customers (primarily for MIS systems but also for associated tools and processes). 
  • Resolving escalated customer issues and supporting them with meeting their statutory obligations and improving their business effectiveness.  
  • You will help with MIS software evaluation, testing, implementation planning and transition/customer readiness. 
  • You will be self-motivated and have a positive approach and can maintain an open mind when approaching difficult situations. 
  • Opportunities to work on various projects to improve effectiveness on routines.
  • Ensure that our customers benefit from an effective, efficient, and professional ICT support service through face-to-face customer contact - both onsite and through events, regular user community meetups and service reviews.
  • Using a variety of remote technologies. 
  • You will primarily support customers in East Sussex, Brighton & Hove and Surrey with hybrid working arrangements and be able to demonstrate the ability to meet travel requirements of the post. Typically, our Business Systems Consultants travel in their own car, and we pay a generous per mile allowance for this.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
