Do you want to make a positive difference to vulnerable people’s lives?

I’ve worked with the council for over 10 years, and I stay here because I find it really rewarding. I know that I’m making a difference. Joe, Information Analyst

We think East Sussex County Council (ESCC) is a great place to work.  One of the most important things about working here is the knowledge that you are working to help others and the real sense of achievement and purpose that brings.

  • Are you empathetic to the needs of vulnerable people?
  • Are you good at communicating with a wide range of different people?

As a Client Affairs Case Worker (CASO) you will be part of a team that supports vulnerable adults who receive care and support through ESCC’s, Adult Social Care service and who lack mental capacity to manage their finances and property themselves, by taking on the responsibility by way of Department for Work and Pensions Appointeeship or Court of Protection Deputyship.

The role of the CASO is to support the team to manage clients’ financial affairs. You will deal with queries via post, email and telephone calls.  You will support the team to review clients’ finances, including benefits and income applications, payment of bills and expenses. You will work with your team members and professionals from other Adult Social Care teams and external organisations, to make sure clients are receiving the best service.

We are looking for candidates who:
