We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Social Worker to work within East Sussex County Council’s Learning Disability and Transition Service on a 6-month fixed term contract to focus on undertaking Court of Protection Deprivation of Liberty Assessments (COP DOLS) in partnership with our Legal Department.  The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards is the procedure prescribed in law when it is necessary to deprive a person of their liberty who lacks capacity to consent to their care and treatment in order to keep them safe from harm.

As a service, we are committed to working with our clients to build on their strengths, enabling them to live full lives within the community as independently as possible. This involves working closely with our health colleagues and key partner agencies, so excellent communication skills are a must.

Our flexible working arrangements allow for a mix of being home and office based throughout the week. This post covers clients living across the county.

We recognise that this is a challenging role, not for everyone, however East Sussex County Council is committed to providing the support and professional development to make the most of your skills including the opportunity for career progression.

We would really like you to choose the Learning Disability and Transition Service for your next step in social work and would love to hear from you.
