If you find working with vulnerable children with complex emotional needs highly rewarding, and are looking to work for an innovative school in a brand new purpose built school building, then we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for a number of enthusiastic and committed teaching assistants to be part of an exciting new special school in Hailsham, East Sussex. We have positions starting immediately.

The Ropemakers' Academy delivers provision for 80 children aged between 4 and 16 with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. The school is part of The Beckmead Trust, who have a proven record of providing outstanding care and support for a range of children with Special Educational Needs.

You will be part of a team resolutely dedicated to providing the very best education for our pupils, using your natural caring and nurturing ethos to allow them to feel safe, valued and trusted.

As a result of their needs, some of our pupils may present with challenging emotional responses, and so you will need to be reflective, adaptive and resilient. We don't judge our pupils on their behaviours and actions, we understand it and support them to change.

If this is you, then in return we will provide you with an excellent and unique opportunity to be part of an organisation where you will work in a brand new building, purpose built to serve the needs of all members of our school community.

We can also offer you a comprehensive CPD package that will allow you to develop your skills and knowledge, whilst being part of a genuinely collaborative team where you will have direct influence and involvement in the evolution of our school and the provision we deliver. We will value your professional judgement and expertise throughout.

Prior to submitting your application, you are encouraged to get in touch with us to arrange for an informal chat with our Headteacher, Simon Hawthorne.
