An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Resource Officer to join our friendly supportive team in the Hastings and Rother Neighbourhood support team which works with adults across the whole of Hastings and Rother area. We are looking for a committed person who is able to work autonomously and as part of the team. We will provide a good level of support and supervision and promote your development. The work can be complex and fast paced and an ability to prioritise and manage a caseload and maintain throughput is an essential part of our work.  The role includes:

  1. To undertake a range of tasks which could include investigation of adult safeguarding issues, carrying out assessments of need, analysis and planning, assessing and managing risk, commissioning support and reviewing services 
  2. To identify and appropriately report children and adult safeguarding concerns, liaising with key agencies to gather information and acting as Investigating Officer as delegated. 
  3. To work with a range of legal interventions and departmental policies and procedures to support outcome-based planning for adults.
  4. To work directly with adults in need, carers, families and their communities to support people to make informed decisions and choices, empowering them to express needs and participate in the decision-making process.
  5. To work with partner agencies and adults in need and their carers and families to enable them to build networks of community support and maintain their independence for as long as possible. 
  6. To maintain good case recording and present reports to panels as appropriate.
  7. To contribute to the learning of other team members, for example through participation in reflective practice groups and contributing to team meetings.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
