Art & DisplayTechnician - St Catherine's College

We urgently seek an enthusiastic Art, Photography and Display Technician to support our Creative Arts Department.

You should have an interest in Art and Photography, be organised and motivated and willing to learn new things.  This post would be excellent for an Art / Photography / Design Graduate or possibly a good role for a working artist.

The role is for 20 hours per week and is a fixed term post to cover a maternity absence. Start date 1 September 2022, probable end date February 2023.This is one post, the successful applicant will have the following main areas of responsibility.
Art Technician

  •  Supporting examination administration
  •  Mounting work
  • Organising portfolios
  • In lesson support for both Art teachers
  •  Creating resources
  •  Maintenance of equipment
  • Ordering materials
  •  Keeping a check on the budget
  • Display Work
  •  Open evening
  •  Classroom displays on request
  • Notice boards
  • Cuts out lettering for walls
  •  Extra painting of lettering
  • Photography
  •  Keeping dark room maintained
  •  Creating resources to support pupils
  •   Being in the dark room while lessons are taking place in there
  •   Working with digital cameras
  •  Using ICT and editing

Additional Information

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
